Before I started writing this blog
I sent an email to a number of friends and family members asking them
to send me any cool examples of viral marketing campaigns. I got a
surprising number of replies, most of which stated they would love to
help me out but they had no idea what viral marketing was. One person
thought that viral marketing was the practice of spreading computer
viruses with fake campaigns. This person will remain nameless because
I wouldn't want to embarrass her. (But I totally get it based on the
phrasing Mom.)
I work in the internet marketing industry so I forget that phrases like viral marketing, SEO, PPC, and blogosphere don't normally come up in casual dinner conversation. So for those of you reading this that aren't super internet
marketing savvy, I hope I can show you some really inventive and
original marketing campaigns and videos that for one reason or another
have caught on and spread like wildfire. For those of you in the internet marketing industry, I hope this site brings you a fresh, fun perspective on all things viral.
